Limited to 20 participants to ensure personalized feedback.
In this workshop you will learn the jazz chords for "Blue Christmas", which is a great example of something referred to in jazz as a "walking ballad". Its loping pace can allow it to be played in either a 4 or a 2 feel. We'll make good use of this to create smooth and interesting transitions even when the chords of the song are not changing much on paper.

Level: lower intermediate and up. All chord diagrams will be provided on handouts.

Enrolment limited to 20 students: enrolment is capped so that I can spend more time providing individual feedback and guidance as needed.

Tuning: we will use GCEA tuning - both low G or high G welcome.

This workshop will be delivered online via Google Meet. Please ensure you are using a recent version of a compatible browser (Chrome, Edge, Mozilla Firefox or Safari)
Note: you will receive workshop handouts and high quality backing tracks for practice closer to the workshop date. This workshop will be recorded and you'll be able to stream a replay for up to 3 weeks afterwards so you can go over anything you found tricky in class.
Cancellation policy: Because class sizes are strictly capped, we are unable to issue refunds for missed workshops. However, you will have access to a high-quality video replay for three weeks after the session, giving you plenty of time to catch up at your own pace!
