In this workshop you will learn the jazz chords for “Blue Christmas” as well as a chord melody arrangement, so that you will have options to perform it vocally and/or instrumentally. We’ll also break down the process for developing the chord melody. Backing track and handout will be provided.

Level: Intermediate and up. All chord diagrams will be provided on handout. To get the most out of the chord melody portion, it will help if you are comfortable playing jazz chord inversions up the neck. 

Price: $20 Canadian. This is a special discounted price in case you’ve been impacted by the pandemic. This workshop will be 2 hours long with a 10 minute health break in the middle. 

Enrolment limited to 12 students: enrolment is capped so that I can spend more time providing individual feedback and guidance as needed. 

Tuning: we will use GCEA tuning – both low G or high G welcome.

This workshop will be delivered online via Zoom. If you don’t have a webcam and just want to follow along, that is fine. But if you have a question that requires me to see you play, please turn on your webcam so that I can see your hands and your instrument. You do not have to install special software – Zoom can run in your web browser. You will receive a weblink when you register.
